Hello and welcome to Bake It With Love!

I'm Angela, a self-proclaimed foodie and vintage cookbook collector. I'm also the at home chef behind the website, and creator of the recipes shared here.
I love being a stay at home mom, with my oldest son in college. My middle son was in the military, and I am now a Gold Star Mom.
My youngest daughter is still at home and is about to turn 15 and start driving. Her sense of humor and creativity are boundless!
My husband and I enjoy cooking together, it's truly one of our favorite things to do as a couple. Many of my recipes were inspired by or helped in some way, shape, or form by him.
My favorite thing of all is when he does both the prep work and the dishes! ?
That shared love of cooking is what drove me to create Bake It With Love, a place to save all of my recipes. And of course, to share them! When I look back, I wish I had started many years earlier.
The time when I really came into my own as a cook, we were living on the Oregon Coast and fresh seafood would have been so much easier to get my hands on!!
My family and I currently reside in South Central Minnesota, literally the middle of nowhere. I have a fabulous old farmhouse with a gorgeous kitchen that no one in their right mind would complain about.
I, however, wish it were a light color rather than the black granite it is. Sigh. Food Blogger Problems.
Our home is on a small mini-farm that now boasts my horse, the two dogs, and cat population that has grown after bringing home a kitten found in the road.
The barn is host to my five fabulous cats. It takes a lot of restraint to keep from sharing an animal photo in each post!
My experience in the kitchen started at a young age as my Grandma Janet's (affectionately known as Granny Janny) baking assistant. I have quite a bit of her kitchen decor, and I treasure having her copper cookie cutters and gingerbread molds (both copper and ceramic).
Most importantly, I treasure all of my wonderful memories of such a fantastic lady...standing shoulder to shoulder, rolling out sugar cookie dough at Christmastime.
Ok, yes, I was on a step stool to reach the counter but you get the picture. Very fond memories. And when I smell sugar cookies, oatmeal molasses cookies, or gingerbread I immediately feel the nostalgia coming on strong. Granny was equally amazing at all things in the kitchen (chewy breads with a crispy crust and to-die-for jams come to mind too!)...
BUT...I obsess over cookies, so this is her story that I share when I don't have the time to pop open a bottle of red wine and give the tale justice.
I hope that you enjoy the site, our recipes and photos, and that you feel free to ask any questions you may have about recipe particulars. I do try and respond as quickly as possible during the week, with weekends being spent away from the computer and devoted to quality family time and (weather permitting) some time in the fresh air.
